Saint Andrew is the Patron Saint of Scotland, and St. Andrew's Day is celebrated by Scots around the world on the 30th of November. As such this is a very important day in the social calendar of all Scottish Highland Regiments.
The Officers of the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada celebrate St. Andrew's Day with a Feast. The Feast of Saint Andrew is a formal, black tie, 6 course Mess Dinner held on the last Saturday in November. The Feast features the traditions and customs of a Highland Regiment Officers' Mess. It also includes the participation of the Regimental Pipes and Drums.
By formal invitation, the Feast of St. Andrew is taking place on Saturday the 25th of November, 2023. Arrival at 5:30PM; dinner at 7PM. RSVP with your invitation on our online form.
This event typically draws 200 Officers, Associate Mess Members, Veterans, friends of the Regiment, and prominent members of the greater community. Traditionally attendees come by themselves since this event is by formal invite only. Also, most guests wish to socialize and interact with others who they may not have seen in some time. Many guests anticipate this event as the highlight of their year!

Our goal is to bond the Officers of the Regiment with Ladies and Gentleman of our community in an engagement commensurate with their status as leaders of the Waterloo Region. An invitation to dine in the Mess is an opportunity to enter the home of the Regimental Officers and share in the life of the Regiment. We believe that there is a significant link between the community and our Regiment. Mess dinners provide us with the opportunity to invite leaders of our community into the Mess to foster morale, build esprit de corps, and gain a mutual understanding of the Canadian Forces and community issues.
